COULEURS DE NOIR
OVERVIEW:
For Couleurs de Noir, an award-winning Belgian beauty brand that bridges skincare and makeup with a clean, performance-driven approach, we delivered a fully custom e-commerce experience built on Shopify — from UX and design through to development and optimization.
The project included:
- Custom Shopify theme and architecture. A tailored theme was created to reflect the brand’s elegant visual identity and complex product catalog, including multiple makeup categories, bundles, gift sets, and curated collections, making exploration and discovery effortless for customers.
- UX/UI design focused on clarity and conversion. We designed intuitive navigation and filtering logic supported by detailed category structures (e.g., TEINT, OGEN, LIPPEN, TOOLS) that help users quickly find products by type, use case, or bestsellers, enhancing browsing speed and engagement.
- Enhanced shopping functionality. Dynamic product bundles and cross-sell blocks were configured to highlight curated sets and deals, increasing average order value while keeping the purchase flow clear and friction-free.
- Content-rich brand storytelling. We integrated sections for featured collections, award mentions, and brand values to reinforce Couleurs de Noir’s positioning as a clean cosmetics leader, connecting product content with editorial narratives for better user trust and education.
- Performance and scalability. The platform supports free shipping thresholds, multi-currency, and responsive layouts across devices, while leveraging Shopify’s commerce capabilities and third-party apps for reliable checkout, inventory management, and promotional logic.
Creation of advanced category and filtering logic to support a diverse catalog of makeup, skincare, tools, and curated sets, combined with dynamic promotional triggers such as free-shipping thresholds and time-based offers. Additionally, we developed an interactive sliding cart featuring persistent promo banners and a real-time free-shipping progress bar to keep users informed and encourage conversions throughout the shopping journey.
PRODUCT BUNDLES:
Custom product bundles were built using Shopify Functions, enabling dynamic pricing, accurate inventory handling, and seamless bundle representation across product pages, cart, and checkout. This ensures a consistent purchasing experience while increasing convenience and average order value.
SUMMARY:
The result is a scalable, brand-aligned e-commerce site that beautifully showcases Couleurs de Noir’s products and supports increased engagement, improved conversion pathways, and a smooth, tailored shopping experience from discovery to checkout.
